Rev. Greg Burchfield
Senior Adult Ministries (SAMs)
Greg Burchfield, and his wife Lovella, serve as pastors of Glad Tidings A/G Church in Silver City, NM. They previously pastored at First Assembly of God in Belen, NM; First Assembly of God in Grants, NM; and First Assembly in Questa, NM for several years. Greg has served in various roles in the New Mexico District: currently serving as Committeeman in the Southwest Section; District Youth Director; Sectional Youth Representative; and Sectional Christian Education Representative. Greg and Lovella both love and support the NM District as they pastor and participate in various District and Sectional ministry opportunities.
A note from Greg and Lovella regarding the SAMs ministry:
We look forward to serving as the NM District Senior Adult Ministries Directors. Our desire is to continue serving people through this ministry.
Our challenge to our SAMs is to continue to:
*Faithfully serve God in your local churches, being supportive to your pastors and leadership through prayer and encouragement of those ministries in your local church.
*Be a mentor to the younger men, women, youth, and children through prayer and encouragement; you have a wealth of knowledge and experience to be shared with them; understand them and the world they are now living in; be a grandparent/parent-support person to single moms and dads. Bake them a pie; take them fishing; find some familiar hobbies or common interests; etc.
*Attend Sectional and District SAMs retreats for encouragement, fellowship, and ministry opportunities.
Our goal is to provide fun trips in New Mexico (and in other states), retreats, and ministry opportunities each year. We will try to keep your local churches informed. If you are a local coordinator for your local SAMS ministry, or just want to be kept informed of upcoming events, please contact us with your current information. We also welcome your ideas, projects, and comments.
